#1 Securely Attach the Tool

The first thing you need to do is make sure that the pneumatic tool you want to use with your mobile air compressor is securely attached to the air compressor. Always double check and make sure that it is tightly twisted into place. If you improperly attach a pneumatic tool to your air compressor, there is no telling where the air might come out or how the tool will respond.

#2 Know Where the Shut-off Valve Is

Whenever someone is operating an air compressor, it is vital to know where the shut-off valve is. You need to know where the shut-off valve is so you can turn it off as quickly as possible should something happen to the pneumatic tool you are working with, should the hose malfunction, or should a coupling come apart.

If something happens to the tool, hose, or coupling, you should not try to fix it while pressured air is still running through the system. It is safest to turn the air off, then deal with the issue.

#3 Use the Right Lubricant

Pneumatic tools need to be lubricated on a regular basis. However, you need to make sure that you use the right lubricant on your pneumatic tools.

You don't want to use any lubricant that is flammable with your air compressor and pneumatic tool. Check and make sure that you are using the right lubricant on your pneumatic tools.

#4 Keep Your Hoses Clean

Keep the hoses to your mobile air compressor clean. If any grease or oil gets on the hoses from other nearby tools or equipment, wash off the grease and oil right away. Grease and oil can cause your air hoses to deteriorate and develop holes, which can lead to an unsafe situation.
